A Japanese website called Dengeki Online had a recently poll to ask readers what games they wanted to remake. The list of the games weren't that significant, but the interesting part was they actually polled console systems as well. The Sony PSP ended up finishing first ont he list.

This really makes it interesting because people are already buying the Sony PSP like there is no tomorrow, but they will want Sony to remake it? The recent surge is probably due to the game Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G, but what is with the Sony PSP that could be better? Maybe Sony needs to get their act together to improve the PSP!

It turns out that the Sony PSP is still king of the world. A good way to see what console is the best is to look at how the consoles are selling in Japan. It turns out the PSP sold 92K+ consoles which put it at number 1.

It beat out other consoles such as DS Lite which only came in at 48K and the Nintendo Wii which came in at 42K consoles. This is very interesting as the Sony PSP is actually selling more and more every month. This may lead into a great year for Sony if they can pick up the sales of the PS3.

People always wonder why Square Enix the famous maker of the Final Fantasy series always sticks with Sony products like the PSP even though the Nintendo DS is much more popular. They say that their products sell better on the PSP despite there being fewer PSP owners out there.

This is because Nintendo DS owners are usually much younger and aren't interested in games like Final Fantasy or Crisis Core. This is quite a reasonable explanation and really shows how different Nintendo and Sony are these days. It'll be interesting to see if they can both thrive in the future.

GoView for PSP 04/27/2008

There's now an official release date for the European video download service. We haven't heard anything that tells us the exact date, but we did hear "summer" or whatever that means. The GoView feature will allow PSP users to download tv shows, movies and anything else video related from Sky, a british TV operator.

What you have to do is first download it to your PC and then sync it with your PSP, which is a bit more annoying. However, it is likely that there won't be any support for operating system that aren't windows based. That's unfortunate but what can you do. Until it comes out, we'll have to stick with converting movies ourselves.

That's nuts! The Sony PSP is going bananas in Japan thanks to some killer games like Monster Hunter 2nd G. Don't ask me why, Japanese love hunting monsters, which may be kinda weird to Americans. Well we kinda like it too actually, but not as much.

PSP ened up selling 85K units beating up the DS Lite which was at 47K. The Nintendo Wii sold 46K which is quite respectable and the PS3 sold 8K. The PSP has quite a lead but I wonder if they can sustain this after the buzz of Monster Hunter 2nd G has died down.

There are some great new games for the entire world this week. Actually Europe was left out this week with no new releases, but they'll be ok... I hope. North America was blessed with 2 games, Chameleon and PSP Media Manager 2.5. I'm not sure if PSP Media Manager counts as a game, but it's definitely a new release.

Chameleon should be a cool game, so be sure to check that one out. In Asia, tons of new PSP games just came out. The list includes:

Jan Sangoku Musou
Mahjong Fight Club: Zenkoku Taisen Ban
Minna no Map 3
Mystereet Portable
Nobunaga no Yabou: Shouseiroku
Vampire Chronicle: The Chaos Tower
Vantage Master Portable

This may be no surprise for many Sony fans, but you don't see many girls playing around with a Sony PSP or PS3. It looks like the DS Lite has an overwhelming control of the female market with almost 80 percent of the females choosing it. This is very interesting, and the companies are not ignoring it.

Sony is trying to fix their mistakes, but trying to create games like MyStylist, but the problem is that the PSP just looks like a guy's machine. It doesn't have that cute angle that the Nintendo DS has. You have to also factor in that the DS has much more games that cater to females as well like Nintendogs.

Have you ever been sick and tired paying way too much for Sony branded memory cards? Well there now seems to be a solution where you can convert microSD HC cards into Memory Stick Pro Duo cards. It is a solution by PhotoFast, which will work on PSP-1000 and PSP-2000 models.

This is interesting because microSD are much cheaper than the Sony equivalent so you can stock up on more memory cards. However, there is no price for the adapter, but it has been selling for about 10 dollars in Japan currency. We can't wait for this one to come out.

Many people love their original playstation, but don't know who is behind it. Well the person is Ken Kutargi and he often mentioned as the Father of the PlayStation. This has given him a lot of fame since the initial release of the PlayStation. Now he's been added to the Consumer Electronics Hall of Fame.

This award lets him join other famous people such as the people who made the first cellphone and the one who created the DVD. This is a considerable award considering how mobile phones and DVDs are pretty much everywhere, but I guess PlayStations are pretty much everywhere too. It turns out that Sony has sold 200 million systems worldwide so far which is an impressive number by anyone's standards.

Weren't excited when they announced Grand Turismo 4 on the PSP in 2005? Well, it's almost three years later, and we still haven't seen it. So what the heck are the developers doing?

According to Kazunori Yamauchi, he says that it won't be ready until 2009 thanks to the developing effort on Gran Turismo 5. This does at least confirm that they still haven't forgotten about the game, but 2009 is sure a LONG time for a game on the PSP. By that time, won't we have a new better PSP? Let's see if Sony keeps to their 2009 plan or else we just plain give up.
